I know, I haven’t posted a recommandation post in forever — and not much on this blog as a whole, sadly — but I’m finally on break from school and wanted to share my 5 favorite reads from the last two months!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that January and February are doomed months, but I have to admit, books really made a difference! So without waiting more, here are the novels that brightened my life this past couple of months :

- The Witness for the Dead by Katherine Addison : adult fantasy → Katherine Addison is a master of storytelling and I’m in awe of her characterization skills. The book as a whole isn’t perfect, but the flaws — a structure somewhat disjointed at times, mostly — grow dim in the face of its undeniable strengths. I cannot wait to read the sequel.
- Bloodwitch by Susan Dennard : young adult fantasy → Let’s be clear : this blog is an Aeduan’s fan blog, and void witches hold my souls okay.

- Wrath by John Gwynne : adult fantasy → I could probably complain about a few things but honestly? I had way too much fun with this series – and trust me, one needs serious talent to make me love a story filled with so many epic Fantasy tropes. John Gwynne definitely has tons, and I will happily read everything he writes. Balm for my soul, etcetera.
- The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden : adult fantasy → After reading the first half a year (more?) ago, I finally found the courage to finish it last month and I couldn’t be happier. For me, this was perfection, and who knows, maybe I’ll be less grumpy when the roads are frozen in the mornings.

- The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley : historical fantasy → THE HOLY GRAAL (read my review on Goodreads)
I haven’t read any of these yet, but I do want to read both the series by Arden and Dennard at some point. You know. When I have spare time… There are just so many books and so little time to read them all!
Oh yes definitely!!!
